SIMPIPE TOOLS
Pipeline engineering for the oil & gas sector
SIMPIPE is a Brazilian engineering company headquartered in Rio de Janeiro, specialized in pipelines for the oil & gas sector. We work on the design, operation and integrity of gas and oil pipelines, providing thermohydraulic simulation, flow assurance and risk analysis services, and we develop our own software such as the SIMPIPE Suite. Our clients include operators and carriers such as Petrobras, Braskem, NTS, Logum, Naturgy and TAG.

Frequently Asked Questions
What is pipeline thermohydraulic simulation?
It is the computational modeling of fluid flow (natural gas, oil and derivatives) in pipelines, calculating pressures, temperatures and flow rates along the route. It is used to size new pipelines, define operating envelopes and evaluate operating scenarios for gas and oil pipelines.
What is flow assurance?
It is the set of studies that ensure the fluid reaches its destination at the required pressure, temperature and flow conditions, preventing problems such as hydrate formation, wax deposition and excessive pressure drops, through steady-state and transient simulations.
What is pipeline integrity management?
It is the discipline that assesses and manages the physical condition of a pipeline throughout its life cycle: calculation and management of the Maximum Allowable Operating Pressure (MAOP), assessment of anomalies and defects, risk analyses and pipeline reclassification according to the applicable standards.
What is the SIMPIPE Suite?
It is SIMPIPE's software platform for pipeline engineering, with modules for MAOP management (SIMDATA), location class definition (SIMCLASS), risk analysis for reclassification (SIMRISK AS 2885) and anomaly assessment and fitness for service (SIMINTEG FFS).
Where does SIMPIPE operate?
SIMPIPE is headquartered in Rio de Janeiro and serves pipeline operators and carriers across Brazil and Latin America, with projects delivered for companies such as Petrobras, Braskem, NTS, Logum, Naturgy and TAG.
